I've tried to rename the file as "clash1" but it's instantly making it "Clash1". I'm trying to make a font for a lightsaber and the words need to be in all lowercase, so this is a serious problem.

    Renaming files

Suddenly I can not rename a file...Word, Excel, anything including PDFs. I right click and either list closes and disappears or I get a message that Microsoft has stopped working. I have to open the file, then Save As giving it a new name and then go
in an delete the previous version with the name I no longer want. Just started happening about 2 weeks ago. Does not matter if I am working in the program file list, like Word, or if I'm using the File Explorer. Did a recent update mess this up?

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    - Are you using Photo app to rename the photos?

    - Did you try renaming the photos directly from File explorer?

    - Do you get any message?
