How do I stop Microsft deleting drivers I use every day?

I use old but compatible legacy drivers for my Creative Live Cam Optio USB camera, a 2yr old driver for Panasonic Lumix F2000 WiFi and I use Epson 2 for my scanning and printing. They all work completely fully until I get an autmatic update to Windows10, which seems to be every 3 months or so. Then the screen shortcut icons for scanning from my WF7720, my Lumix WiFi link and my camera that I use for Zoom lectures sometimes every day. It seems the directories and drivers have been deleted. This even happened to my NVIDIA drivers 2yrs ago. It is extremely frustrating. I often don't notice but realise sometime after the update from Microsoft.

Is there a way of protecting these working drivers and directories with the device software that Microsoft deems to be inconpatible and therefore summarily deletes? I have had to go to the device manufacturer's website. It even happened just a few months after I reinstalled them. This just keeps happening over and over again and I am getting really upset by it. Some of my friends have gone to Linux as a result of this. I have resisted as in general, I believe in Microsoft Win10 64bit as all the updates normally bring further improvements to a solid system. What a pity I have to repeat spending hours reinstalling devices I rely on.

    :)

    ATI Driver install problems

    Hi!

There seems to be a kind of a mess after deletion of your current driver.
Have you tried step-by-step drivers update procedure including Driver Sweeper, deleting Prefetch and Temp folders, etc?

  3. After I installed the updates KB3176936, KB3176934, and KB3176495, the audio stopped working

I'm facing a problem after I installed the updates KB3176936, KB3176934, and KB3176495, the audio stopped working.

I contact Dell's support and together we tried to:

    • Update the driver
    • Reinstall the driver
    • Uninstall the driver to use windows suggested drivers.
    • Remove the drivers to use the microsoft drivers.
    • Run sfc
    • Run Dell Assist Tools
    • Run Driver updates tools
    • Uninstalled the Windows updates.

    None fixed the problem.

During the RCA I restored my computer 3 times and the issue is not on the sound card, since when I restore the system it works.

I'd like to know what would be the next steps.

Is Microsft release a patch for the update that is breaking the audio?

Mouse stopped working 2 days ago

    Hi,

There are a lot of possible reasons for this matter to occur. One possible cause is your
    drivers
    might be
    outdated
or the issue is within the
    device/hardware
itself. However, we need to make sure that it is the case. To isolate the issue, we have
    some questions for you:

    • Were there any changes made before the issue occurred?

    • Have you tried downloading and installing the latest driver update available in your computer/laptop manufacturer's
      website?

    • Have you tried using the device to another computer?

    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

We suggest that you perform these
    methods of troubleshooting
and check if there are any changes:

Method 1: Run Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.

To run the Troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    • On the search bar, type
      Troubleshooting
      and hit
      Enter.

    • Choose
      Hardware and Sound.

    • Click on
      Hardware and Devices
      to run the
      Troubleshooter.

    Method 2: Update your drivers.

To know how to update your drivers, click
    here.

    Method 3:
    Run SFC Scan.

    SFC
    will
    scan
    and
    run
    an
    automatic repair
    to any
    corrupted system files
that it will detect. We suggest that you perform it twice. To run an
    SFC scan, follow these steps:

    • Run
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Type
      sfc /scannow
      and hit
      Enter.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    Device Vendor manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.
