Windows 10: How do I stop music from playing in mono on all of my devices?

In my stereo headphones Beats studio 3 and Airpods Pro all of the audio is played back to me in mono. When I connect them to my phone the audio plays fine. How do I get stereo playback to work on Windows?

Music playing mono / one speaker only

When using the built-in music player on my Lumia 620, sometimes the stereo signal cuts out, playing mono only.

It's a sporadic problem - it's not related to audio plug connection or the quality of the MP3 files.

Sometimes switching the phone 'off and on' helps, most times it makes no difference.

Any suggestions for a fix, please?

 

Groove stops playing abruptly

Groove occasionally stops playing a few seconds into a song when I double click a new track in Windows Explorer and an existing track is already playing.

Steps to reproduce

• Open the Music folder
• Double-click a track
• With the track still playing, select a different track from Windows Explorer
• Repeat a few times letting the track play for a few seconds before selecting another
• On occasion Groove will stop playing a track that has already started

 

Cast to device bug: List of music will not play continuously. stops playing and end of each song

Howdy,

none of my media apps are misbehaving . Let me reiterate; the problem is the "cast to device " component. I.E choose your music, right click, select cast to device and then a new application window appears with a list of songs, follow me so far?

so now back to what I've repeatedly stated; I start playing music from the CAST TO DEVICE WINDOW, NOT FROM A THIRD PARTY APP.

Song will play as normal on the remote device but then stops playing after song ends. It does not automatically play the next song!

I really can't make it clearer than that.
