Windows 10: How do I stop my phone from saying "Go to your other device and hit this number then hit yes"?

Really need help with this because 'other divice' is my dads phone that I never get to have for things like this.

Blocking Cell Phone Numbers

Here's one way to get around the problem. It's kludgy but it should work.

Get a VOIP based phone service or a magic jack. For 24/7 access, you're better off with VOIP that uses an ethernet adapter, but that's up to the user.

The important point is to find one that lets you create your own "black list" of callers. Usually they will have both black and white list options and these are usually a subcategory under the "do not disturb" or similar feature.

The provider will usually let you create a second number for $5-10 per month. You'll use this for your cell phone number. If it is ever compromised, you can change it easily without affecting the base number.

Forward the second number to your cell phone and give everyone that one as your "cell phone" number. There will be a delay of a few seconds as calls get routed, but who cares. It's not like any of us is on Obama's speed dial right?

Now when you get assholes calling you, just add them to the black list.

You can also block calls w/o caller id this way if your cell phone co. doesn't already do that for you.

 

Stop Windows 10 from asking to link phone to computer

Besides Group Policy, what other ways have you tried ?
Do you utilize Shared experiences, Share across devices ?

Unlink your phone from your PC running Windows 10, use these steps:

• Open Settings.
• Click on Phone.
• Click the Unlink this PC option. Unlink your phone from computer.
• Click the Home button.
• Click on Devices.
• Click on Bluetooth & other devices.
• Select your phone.
• Click the Remove device button.

 

Increase number of rings before answer phone

1. Click on Phone icon

2. Click on Dialpad

3. Enter *#67#

4. Click Call

5. Make a note of the phone number that comes up (it should say something like, "Forward busy calls is enabled to" ... and then phone number ... "for voice"

• For example: phone number = 19084006990

6. Click Close

7. Click on Dialpad

8. Enter **61*19084006990**30#

• The digits 19084006990 are the ones noted in step 5 above
• The last two digits are for the length of time in seconds
  • Step 8 is using 30, so this entry will tell the system to make the length of time 30 seconds
