  2. Photos legacy does not display my photos according to the date created on file explorer

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

I understand the problem you're experiencing with the Photos Legacy app on Windows 11. It seems like the app might not be recognizing the 'Date Created' metadata from File Explorer.

Here are some possible solutions you can try:

    1. Change the Sort Order within the App:
      • Open the Photos Legacy app and navigate to the folder where your photos are stored.
      • Look for a 'Sort by' option in the app (usually found in the top-right corner or within a settings or options menu)
      • If there's a 'Sort by' option, try changing it to 'Date Created' or similar.
    2. Try a Different Photo Viewer:
      • If the Photos Legacy app continues to ignore the 'Date Created' metadata, you might want to consider using a different photo viewer. There are many free options available that offer more robust sorting and viewing options.
    3. Change the Default 'Sort by' Option in File Explorer:
      • This is not a direct solution, but it can help ensure that your files are displayed in the correct order when you open them. To do this, open File Explorer and navigate to the folder containing your photos. Right-click in an empty space and select 'Sort by' -> 'Date Created'.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.

    Best regards

File Explorer Photo Organization vs Photo App Organization

In File Explorer, I have put my photos in folders according to the subject.

Do I have to do this all over again in the Photos app for Windows 10, in order to get the folder contents from Explorer into albums in the Photos app?

Also, any recommendations for an affordable but useful app or tool to keep all of my photos in Windows and the Photo app organized?

    Photos Legacy will not open.

Photos Legacy will not open. I thought maybe uninstalling and re-installing would help, but after uninstalling and going to the Microsoft Store, I could not find Photos Legacy there. What gives? I then tried uploading photos from my Iphone with the Microsoft Photos app. Whereas Photos Legacy organized photos in folders by month, the photos app with Windows 11 seems to enter them in a random order and forces you to check individual photos for uploading. It says 4,000 photos were ready to import. No way can I look at 4,000 photos when I only need to upload the latest 200 or so. Surely there must be a way to select photos on the phone for uploading? How do you do this?
