How do I stop the apps on my computer from immediately crashing when opened?

Over the course of my ownership of my computer, various applications have fallen victim to a problem where they will open and then immediately close. Early 2020 was when this problem began. The ones I remember doing this first are:Microsoft Storefeedback hubphotosvideo editor somehow linked to photos?get help/help I think the name changed?mapstranslatormapscameratipsmy delland possibly othersSince then, the following applications have stopped working and now display the same behavior of instantly closing when opened:calculatorweatherclockHP smartsticky notesIt does not matter whether the a

  2. Is the Photos App completely broken? It opens but crashes after 5 seconds.

There were so many errors in the system I just wiped everything and did a clean install. However, the Photos app still crashes immediately after opening it. I tried all the steps listed above and the problem persists. Creating a new user and doing a clean
boot have no effect. The SFC scan reports no errors now, which is good, but the Photos app will not work despite trying everything that has been suggested. Also, the Troubleshooter for Windows Apps found no problems. Which is amusing, since there clearly is
    one.

To recap, despite trying all methods listed above, including a clean install to clear everything and make sure I have all current updates...Photos does not work.

I'd really like to hear a suggestion as to what to do next.

    Hearthstone open beta

    ... is now open!

No wait, that's not the word.

    The word is ASS.

Step 1. Download the client installer.

Step 2. The installer connects to the server, or at least tries to, overnight during which it just stops several times.

Step 3. Realize the installer is for the Battle.net unified launcher, and not Hearthstone as such.

Step 4. Install the Battle.net unified launcher. This may take a few hours, even after it's been downloaded as such, it's still just slow.

Step 4. Install Hearthstone. Wait for the app to crash a couple of times, wait for it to verify various stuff, then wait for the download to start.

Step 5. Wait for the download to finish. It is pretty quick actually, unless it just crashes.

    Step 6. ASS

And no, I still have no compassion for the people bitching about EA servers.

How do I stop the apps on my computer from immediately crashing when opened?

Mail app will not open on 10041.

    Hello Adam,

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. How do I stop the apps on my computer from immediately crashing when opened? :)

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
