    How do I stop the login screen going back to my closed laptop screen after locking it when...


    When at my desk I run a dock and external monitors and leave the laptop with the lid closed. I have the power settings set up to allow the laptop to run with the lid closed when plugged in. When I lock the machine and then come back, the lock screen is appearing on the closed laptop even though that screen is not functioning otherwise and I have to open the laptop and close it again for the display to return to just the external monitors. Can this be fixed? I have not had a problem with other laptops on Windows 10.

    You can use your own image of any background and just go to settings/personalize/lock screen and click on browse as in the image below. It should make whatever picture you use as the Lock Screen

    If there is a delay when going from the Lock screen to the Login screen on your Windows 10 PC, then you can fix this Lock screen to Login Screen delay issue by following these suggestions:

    Disable Lock Screen background image.
    Disable Log in Screen background image.
    Disable Windows Spotlight if it is enabled.
