Windows 10: How do I stop the Nvidia driver update since its already in the update que via microsoft?

Is there a way to clear and not allow the Nvidia update; microsoft has tried to force on already working as designed graphics cards!There should be a way to say no my card is working fine. And don't give me that bull its a security update.

Update drivers or not?

I always update drivers from corresponding hardware site especially of chipset+GPU+Audio as soon as available (like yesterday nVIDIA GPU driver update ver 190.62 from 190.38). I also check for drivers update on Microsoft Update site. Nothing has gone bad ever for me due to drivers update. Always found new version more compatible + performance enhancement + bug fix + security enhancement.
I would recommend to update drivers + BIOS + OS updates as soon as they are released.

 

NVIDIA Adds Windows 8 to GeForce Driver Update Stack

AMD may have been the first to be out with drivers for its Radeon GPUs that are optimized for Windows 8 (WDDM 1.2), but NVIDIA went a step ahead of "special-releases" for its GeForce drivers, and added Windows 8 to its update stack, meaning that Windows 8 will feature in the list of operating systems to pick from, to download drivers. NVIDIA will constantly update these drivers along with mainline releases for Windows 7/Vista and XP. The latest such driver is 296.17. This driver supports GeForce and Quadro GPUs, and according to NVIDIA, is a quick-update over 295.73 WHQL, with the addition of performance optimization for Blacklight: Retribution.

NVIDIA Prepares a Controversial Change to its Driver Update Distribution

GFE should be optional like Gaming Evolved. The moment it stops being optional is the moment in crosses the proverbial "line." NVIDIA should offer an update tool but it should not require any account with NVIDIA (having NVIDIA hardware should be the only prerequisite) and that should be part of NVIDIA's Control Panel (like Catalyst) with an option to disable it. GFE should have never handled updates. If they divorced updates from GFE, I see no reason why GFE couldn't require an account because it is optional software.

In relation to "just in terms of steps needed:" Catalyst automatically prompts on program start to install the latest WHQL drivers if your installed drivers are out of date. It never prompts for any user information.
