    HOW DO I STOP THIS DESKTOP FROM KEEPING TRACK OF WHAT I CONSIDER MY7 PERSONAL WORK????


    I have come to so despise this windows 10.


    PLEASE can someone tell me how I stop stop stop this desktop from keeping every damn thing I write, do etc. in a record that will pop up on my desktop. If you click something, all of what you have done shows up on the desktop


    PERSONALLY I hate that. I find it a rude intrustion of privacy. I know what I've done and I can bloody w3ell find it and I don't want it all over my7 damnj desktop.


    I have done nothing buy8t strugglg with this **** windows 10. Sorry, but that is wthe wayt I feel about it.


    I don't think there is any more security with this.


    Please can someone just tell me how to get rid of this?

    What files are considered as "Personal Files"?

    Hi,

    Personal files includes documents, photos and videos. If you saved these kind of files in D:\, it will be considered as personal files.

    If you choose to reset your PC and keep your files, it will:

    • Reinstall Windows 10 and keeps your personal files.
    • Remove apps and drivers you installed.
    • Remove changes you made to settings.
    • Remove any apps your PC manufacturer installed. (If your PC came with Windows 10, apps from your PC manufacturer will be reinstalled.)

    Personalize desktop with pictures taken and stored within My Pictures

    Hi Granite,

    Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience you are facing. I will certainly help you with this.

    Try the below steps and check if it helps.

    I suggest you to create a new folder, copy pictures whichever you want to set as desktop background and paste in new folder.

    Now browse and select this folder to set as desktop background. Follow the below steps:

    • Right click on desktop and select Personalize.
    • Under background select Slideshow.
    • Now browse for the folder which you created.
    • Turn on Shuffle.

    I'm planning to reset my Windows 10 Laptop. There is "Keep Personal Files" option. What is Personal Files? Are the files in D:\ also considered as Personal Files?
