    How do I stop uninstalled program icons from popping up on my desktop randomly?


    Uninstalled program icons keep randomly popping up on my desktop when I install a new program or delete one. I'm on Windows 11 version 22H2.

    Program that saves the location of Desktop icons?

    It would kind of make-sense if in a game you used a lower resolution than your desktop.
    However, the sad news is that I have no idea how to fix it, whether there is a program that saves all your icon locations or why this is happening when your computer goes to sleep.

    nope. Its really weird and there is no reason it should be happening

    The desktop icon are not even being sorted just randomly placed on my screen as if I had gone down a resolution and then back up.

    Remove Linux Desktop Icons

    I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.
