First up - Have I searched for this? Yes! I've found plenty of people asking the same question, but none of them ever seem to have received a solution, so I'm really hoping things may have changed by now? I have a Lenovo P1 running Win11 with Logitech Z623 speakers as the default audio device connected via the wired headphone socket using the "Realtek HD Audio 2nd device" driver and a Poly Voyager 2 headset as the default comms device via the Poly BT700 dongle and driver.I also have two external LG 24UD58 monitors and every few days - despite the fact that they don't even have speakers in t

    audio randomly stops working

    Hello all,

My computer is currently connected to my Vizio E420-A0 TV (HDMI). My audio randomly stops working and the display audio device disappears. When it works I can see it in device manager:

And when it stops working it disappears:

The driver seems to be up to date:

Disconnecting and reconnecting the cable doesn't help or turning the TV off and on, but rebooting fixes it. Any ideas?

  3. Audio devices randomly deactivated upon profile change

    CPU Ryzen 9 5900X
    RAM 32,0 GB

    Edition Windows 11 Pro
    Version 23H2

My PC us used by 2 people with their own profiles - Lets call them A (Admin) and B (User). Randomly (not always), when I switch from B to A, the audio menu in the taskbar of A becomes completely unresponsive, or changes between audio devices aren't executed.

In the event manager these events are listed under "Starting type of Service "Realtek USB Audio Driver" was changed to "deactivated"".

This only happens when switching from B to A, never from A to B

I am running the latest drivers, I reinstalled the audio device as well. This has been going on for months, and I have no idea how to fix it.
