Windows 10: How do I stop windows 11 task view from switching when I close the current window?

When I close the current window, Task View automatically switches to the previous virtual desktop. I would like to stay on a blank virtual desktop.

Alright, I'd try the keyboard shortcut for "close virtual desktop", which is
Win+Ctrl+F4. That should work even if you aren't inside task view.

Virtual Desktops

• Windows Key + Ctrl + D – Create a new virtual desktop and switch to it
• Windows Key + Ctrl + F4 – Close the current virtual desktop.
• Windows Key + Ctrl + Left / Right – Switch to the virtual desktop on the left or right.

Ah! Thank you! Was able to get it down to just enough for task view to respond so I could set the auto clicker to click the x on every desktop.

Windows 10 Build 9879 released (last update for 2014).
