Windows 10: How do I stop Windows from restarting my computer, EVER?

I sometimes come back to my computer after a break or in the morning to see that all my programs have been closed down and all my work discarded. I have lost half a dozen unsaved text files with notes and to-do lists. I would have lost hours of client work because of this, if the program I was using didn't automatically keep backups.


I don't care what hours it considers "active." I don't want Windows to restart my computer without asking me,ever. No answer is not a yes.


If there's no way to stop this, please tell me how to disable updates entirely. Keeping my programs and files open between sessions is more vital to me than keeping this operating system updated.

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it
