Windows 10: How do I switch off Game / Xbox adverts on my lock screen

Microsoft has started advertising games / XBOX on the lock screen of my laptop. I have not given permission for Microsoft to do that and as a parent, trying to manage my childrens' game addictions I find that deeply unhelpful and offensive. How do I switch off ALL those adverts from my windows software?

How to switch Windows Xbox Game Bar between primary and secondary screen

I found a workaround. I think it is a bug limited to the Taskbar and Xbox Gamebar.

Gamebar doesn't support switching between screens so you have to close and open it.

However the problem is clicking on the taskbar Start button, search or select gamebar doesn't open gamebar on the screen you have entered the search or selected the program. This is a bug.

The workaround for this bug:
Gamebar must not be open or visible on your screen. If it is then close it.

1. Decide which screen you wish to open XBox Gamebar.
   On that screen right click on a blank part of that screen's taskbar and select taskbar settings. This opens the setting window. Close that settings window.
   
2. This time on the same screen taskbar when you select Game Bar from the start button or search for it from the start Start button by typing "Game" or clicking the filtered icons it will open XBox Game bar on that screen.
   

 

How do I remove the X Box ad on my lock screen?

It’s incredibly unethical for Microsoft to force violent game adverts to the lock screen of Windows 11, even after you uninstall Xbox.

The way Microsoft also tries to force you to use Bing, such that even when you set a new search engine, it still appears on new tabs.

You can fix the lock screen adverts by changing the lock screen from “Spotlight” to a picture or slideshow. Definitely not as obvious as it should be which given how difficult it also is to fix the above issue suggests this is another cynical and unethical deliberate decision from Microsoft.

 

Switch user from lock screen

Once you lock the computer, to switch from one user account to another from the lock screen, select the user name from the list of available users at the bottom left of the sign-in screen, enter the credentials to sign-in.
