Windows 10: How do I switch to a new account on my PC

My son's e-mail that was used with windows 11 when it was installed on his PC was hacked and changed. We've already gone through the process of trying to get it back but because they changed all the info we were told we can't get it back. How do we remove that e-mail from his computer and add another without losing all his files and data?

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address. Cannot switch to local account

Refer to these steps to convert Microsoft account into Local User account:

  Click on Windows button, then click on
  Settings.

  Click on Accounts then click on
  Your account.
  
• 
  Click on Sign in with a local account instead.
  
• 
  Following the Online instructions.
  

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to create a new Local user account and check if that helps you.

  Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Control Panel”.

  Click on “User Accounts” and click on “Manage another Account”.

  Click on “Add a new user in PC Settings”. Follow the on screen directions to complete the process.

Switch Back to Existing Local Account from Microsoft Account

I already identified that I had tried this, and that it did not allow me to switch back to the original Local Account. The Microsoft Account hijacked the User Name of the original Local Account. When I click "Sign in With a Local Account instead" and enter
the original User Name, Windows 10 won't proceed. The only way to get back to a Local Account is enter a new User Name.
