Windows 10: How Do I Transfer Windows 10 From HDD to SSD Without Losing Data

Hello, I've seen people have seperate storage devices for their os and their data, so I wanted to do the same. Currently, I have a 2 tb hdd I've only used about 270 gb, and I wanted to upgrade to an ssd for the faster experience. However, I do not want to lose my Windows 10 Pro license, purchase a high capacity ssd, nor do I want to lose all of my data. I was wondering if there is a way to transfer only my os to an ssd while keeping my license and data. If there are any misunderstandings on my part, please let me know, but hopefully you understand what I want.

I have Lenovo Ideapad 320s 14IKB laptop with HDD. My laptop also has an extra slot for SSD. I am planning to add SSD in that slot and want to transfer windows 10 to SSD so that it boots from SSD.

Upgraded Windows Transfer from HDD to SSD

Hi

My windows was upgraded from 8 to 10 on my laptop few years back. I was trying to get the HDD replaced with SSD. During the copy process, the technician said windows cannot be moved to SSD as it is an upgraded version from 8 to 10.

Kindly guide if there is a possibility to copy the windows to SSD ? If so, please suggest the steps.

 

Transfer of licenced OS from HDD to SSD

I have recently purchased an SSD. Originally windows was installed in HDD. Now I want to transfer the OS from HDD to SSD. Will I lose my LICENSED version of windows, if I do this? And it is mentioned in settings that my windows is activated with the help
of digital license key. Where to find that digital license and how to transfer OS from HDD to SSD?
