    how do i turn jar to zip


    so i’m new to computers but i followed a tutorial on how to make a minecraft texture pack anyways it says to change the name of the file from “.jar” to “.zip” to extract stuff my problem is i think i messed something up because mine doesn’t say .jar in the name and if i just type .zip into it it stays as a jar file can someone tell me how to fix this and also if i send the file to a compressed thing and extact it it just turns back into what i started with.

    Zip to jar. N70

    A .jar file is a zip format file. However, all .zip files do not contain Java programs.



    If the .zip file is really a proper Java installation package, then all the "converting" you need is to rename it (or the extension).
