Windows 10: How do I turn off laptop keyboard backlight?

My laptop keyboard configures Fn + Spacebar to change the backlight. The spacebar doesn't work, from water damage. The same combination does not work with an external keyboard or on-screen keyboard.Following a previous post, I've tried to go into Control Panel and change it, but the attached screenshot shows that there isn't an option there.

How to turn on backlight for keyboard on a windows 1 HP 2000-100?

Please follow the steps below and check.

Step 1

Power on your HP Pavilion and press the "F5" or "F12" key to turn on the keyboard backlight, depending on your model.

Step 2

Locate the "Fn" key next to the Windows key on the bottom-left side of the keyboard. Press the space bar while holding the "Fn" key to turn on the backlight.

Step 3

Press the dedicated backlight key if your model has one. The dedicated backlight key is marked with three dots in a horizontal line. Some models with this key include the dv6-2022er, dv6-3250us and other laptops in the dv6 series.

Can't find the setting to turn off keyboard backlight

• lacrumb is correct, keyboard backlighting is controlled by utilities put on your computer by the computer maker.
• Keyboard backlighting only appears in Windows mobility centre if the computer maker has put it there.

I suggest

• Checking through your Start menu looking for a computer maker's utility,
• Reading the computer manual,
• Searching the computer maker's website
• Searching any user forums for your computer model
• Installing all hardware updates & BIOS updates provided on the computer maker's website

my keyboard backlight stopped. How do I turn it back on? When I go to control panel, it isn't even listed...?
