Windows 10: How do I turn off required sign-in to my microsoft account to use my laptop? Windows 10

I arrive at work, hit the power button on my new laptop lenovo ideapad, if that matters - and I have to sign into my microsoft account with a code sent to my email to do anything. Obviously, this is an unnecessary bit of hassle even when I have access to wi-fi, and absolutely stops me from using my laptop when I don't.I can't to phrase the problem clearly enough to find help on google.Just to be absolutely clear - I want to hit the power button and see the starting screen of my laptop right away, turning off absolutely any and all "sign in please" screens.Edit - I did in fact go to "accoun

Windows 10 Tweaks

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”

Correct, you would pick up at step 17 in the tutorial below to set up the new laptop if not already, and do step 24 to set up a local account. It will be an administrator account by default when created during setup.

You can then use option 1 in the tutorial below to set up netplwiz to automatically sign in to your account at startup.

• In the left pane, click on sign-in options.
• In the right pane select Never from the drop down list for the option
  Require sign-in.
