Windows 10: How do i turn on my 144 hz display on my dell G5 15, i am sure it have 144hz display, tried...

Ok, so I tried going to settings > display > advanced display and selecting the screen, but still it's showing me the 60/48 Hz option, and the default drivers for my laptop are UHD 620. When I attach another display, the default driver or GPU for that is my RX 2060.I tried installing Nvidia drivers manually and automatically, updating all my drivers and stuff, etc., and doing a lot of things suggested on the internet, but all in vain.I have 2-3 questions: how exactly can I 100% know if my display on my laptop is 144 Hz? The seller told me it was 144 Hz, and it says that in the general sp

Monitor going black on 144 hz

Hey, i just bought a new PC with a 4070Ti gigabyte aero edition, when i connected it to my 2 monitors, 1 is 144 hz (odyssey g5) and other one is 60, the 144 went completely black and the 60 one kept going on and off. i bought new cables the 144 hz is connected with 2.1 hdmi. and the 60 is connected with hdmi on the monitor and dp into the pc. when i change the hz on the 144 hz monitor to 60. they work fine. but when i switch it back to 144 the problem returns. this never happend on my old computer. i disconnected the hdmi 144 from the monitor itself and reconnected and now it works fine on 144 but it also did yesterday and the problem returned this morning. also, yesterday at night i had windows updates and i chose update and restart, and after 9 hours there still was a black screen after installing and i had to turn it off and on with the button on the case. does anyone have an idea why this is happening? i also tried uninstalling graphic drivers with DDU and re-installing. same problem. thank you!

 

No display signal in Windows at 144hz

I understand that you are using a monitor that supports 144Hz, however you getting black screen after the sign in page.

As per the information provided by you, I have checked that the monitor supports 144Hz. However, the Sapphire RX 570 graphics card that you are using supports only up to 120Hz using the display ports. Please refer the graphic card
specification by clicking on
Sapphire RX 570.



I suggest you to set the refresh rate for the monitor at 120Hz and check the result.



Follow these steps to change the refresh rate of the monitor.

1. Press Windows key + I.
   This will open Settings.
   
2. Click on System.
   
3. Click on Display.
   
4. Click on Advanced display settings.
   
5. Click on Display adapter properties for Samsung monitor.
   
6. Click on Monitor tab.
   
7. Under Monitor Settings, use the drop-down menu to select the refresh rate and change it to 120Hz.
   
8. Click on Apply button.
   
9. Click on OK button.

Windows locks hz to all monitors if animations

Same issue, so I'll go ahead and reply:

• Win10 1607, build 14393.576
• Intel 6600k with HD Graphics 530 driving a 1080p60 display with a DisplayPort/DVI cable to a Hannspree something or other
• Nvidia GTX 1080, driver version 21.21.13.7633 driving a 1440p144 display with a DisplayPort/DisplayPort to a Dell S2716DG

Changing the refresh rate so they're even multiples of each other fixes the issue. When the Dell is set to 120 Hz, everything is gravy. When the Dell runs at 144 Hz, the problem appears.
