    How do I turn on secure boot?


    I got into the BIOS, reset to set up mode and loaded default settings, but secure boot still isnt turned on. Secure boot is enabled, but secure boot status is disabled and I can't enable it. The information tab also says it is disabled. I have tried many times and followed the intructions on the answer of another person who asked the same question.

    Windows 8 Secure Boot Feature: Not So Secure?

    So Linux is switching to secure boot also? Or they have to because of UEFI?

    Here is a statement from a Kernal Developer at Red Hat:

    I'm not sure this exploits the legacy BIOS but rather it exploits the legacy boot method on MBR drives, injecting a signed key before the OS boots, which you are correct in that it has nothing to do with Windows 8. And the simplest fix would just be to require boot drives use GPT when Secure Boot is enabled in UEFI.

    Hi thanks for your reply I tried all up to step 4 and no boot order even with secure boot off in the configuration setup it looks like I can't change but thanks for your help in know I can access my flash drive via novo menu and boot it that way I just
    thought I could change it for first boot but not allowing in bios
