Windows 10: how do I turn on wifi capability?

I removed a working wifi card and replaced it with ,what I believed,to be a better card. I could not turn wifi capability on with the latter card. I put back in the previous card and now I cannot get wifi on it either. I took it to computer shop and was told there maybe a bad port. Could it be coincidence that port went bad at the same time card was being replaced? In device manager the adaptor properties show it is worjing. No matter what I do I cant get wifi?

Try This.

Enabling Wireless in Windows 7 / Vista

1. Click on Start. It's in the lower-left corner of the screen.
2. Click on Control Panel.
3. Click on Network and Internet.
4. Click on Network and Sharing Center.
5. Click on Change adapter settings. ...
6. Right-click on Wireless Connection.
7. Click on Enable.

 

WiFi capabilities turned off

I have an Hp laptop and WiFi capabilities turned off and I can't turn it on. I have done all possible troubleshooting from updating drivers to windows mobility center and i can't turn it off.

I am only speculating as i don`t know what type of Setup ( External Modem / Router you have and if its Wireless capable ).

As to your Computers WiFi Modem.

You should see a Network Access Icon in the bottom Right Hand Side of you Task Bar. on your screen.

Hover your Mouse over it or Right Click on it to see what options you are given.

It should show a list of Networks Available.

In this list it should show the External Modem / Router what you are trying to connect to. ( Make sure its WiFi is Enabled or it wont show up in the list ).

If it is in the list select it and click Connect.

You may be asked for some other details such as WiFi Password or MAC Address or some form of Identifier which is usually supplied with External Modem / Router which you may have to enter manually to connect the two.

The external Modem / Router that you are trying to connect to usually come with a small Card with the WiFi Details such as WiFi Name / Provider / WiFi Password and some other documentation on connections.
