Windows 10: How do I turn on windows security on my device ?

The windows security on my device has been turned off and I am unable to turn it on , also few update are not being installed on my too. I hope you will be looking after this issue.My PC Information: Device name GauthamSai Processor IntelR CoreTM i5-8250U CPU @ 1.60GHz 1.80 GHz Installed RAM 8.00 GB System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 21H2 Installed on ‎17-‎01-‎2022

• Are you getting any error message?

I suggest you to try to turn on Windows Defender by following steps below and check if it helps.

1. Click on Search bar?

2. Type "Settings" without the quotes in the search bar and click on it.

3. Then click on Update & security.

4. Click on Windows Defender.

5. Then try to turn on the Windows Defender services.

Note: If a third party security software is installed on the computer, then it will disable Windows Defender.

I don't have any bluetooth devices but windows turned it on!!


Then if they are still on, try some of these steps listed below, Not all of these steps may not apply, but, step #2 and #4 should help. I have all 4 steps on myself.

1 Go to Device manager and DISABLE Bluetooth, Do Not remove!
2 Turn USB suspend off
3 Set Hard Drive or SSD to Never
4 Turn Link State Power Management off
Settings 2 thur 4 can be found in your Power Management Settings.
Then click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable"
Then Reboot your Computer. This does work, may come back if you shut OFF your computer,then turn it back on, if it does, just a reboot will turn it off again.

 

windows defender & security center services keep turning off


Are you running any other AV or did you have one running in the past? If you didn't use an uninstaller for the AV, then the remnants of it could be causing the problem. Normally any time you install an AV it disables Defender by default.

If you are getting any error codes please list those, that will be helpful in helping you.

As torre suggested, might be a good idea to do a reset or even a reinstall.
