I'm still seeing start menu ads dispite turning them off

Hello BreadedChicken, and welcome to Ten Forums. how do i turn the top apps from the start menu off :)

The Occasionally show suggestions in Start setting is only for the Suggested apps shown in the All Apps list in the Start menu instead.

You can also turn off automatic installation of suggested apps to completely stop them. Be sure to also read the blue note box at the top of the tutorial below for more info.

    clean up start menu

the list of All apps is supposed to be just that "All Apps"

you can remove the tiles as suggested but to remove an app from the all apps list you would need to uninstall it.

you can hide the list of All apps and just show the tiles (and pin only the apps you use)

    setting -> personalisation -> start

turn off "show app list on start menu"

and /or turn on "show the most used apps"

this will put a list of the apps you use most often at the top of the All Apps list

how do i turn the top apps from the start menu off

Frequently used apps in Start menu

Thank you for the information. I followed the instructions (this is Windows 10). The items on the Start menu are:

    1. Show More Tiles. It was turned off so I turned it back on.

    2. Show App List in Start Menu - ON

    3. Show Recently Added Apps - ON

    4. Show Most Used Apps - Off but is gray so I cannot do anything with it.

    5. Occasionally Show Suggestions in Start - Off

    6. Use Full Start Screen - Off

    7. Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar - On

Even with turning the Show More Tiles on the Show Most Used Apps is not available. Any suggestions?
