Windows 10: How do I turn Windows 10 'Pause Updates' off? #2

This is a follow-up on this thread which was locked without any resolution for me at least

I'm trying to get Windows updates ON. It's turned OFF, and there's no visible way to turn in back ON.

Suggests using this key:


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate

This key does not exist on my machine.

Updates are turned off, and I do not have any way to resume them. There's no resume button, only dropdown with "pause until" with a bunch of dates. Please see screenshots

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Is there a delay after turning Pause Updates off?

I had turned Pause Updates ON because of concern about the name of an update. After being satisfied that the update was OK, I turned Pause Updates OFF and the update disappeared and has not been offered in the 10 hours since that time. The update is not
listed as already installed.

Is there a delay after turning Pause Updates off?

(The particular update is as detailed at Getting 1709 update for "amd64-based Systems" despite Intel chip).
