How do I uninstall snip on my new Win11 laptop

I have a new laptop with Win11 Pro installed. I also noticed that I have the Snip app installed. I normally use SnagIt to capture screen images but I thought that I'd give Snip a try. After about 30 minutes I determined that Snip was NOT the application for me. I installed SnagIt and assigned the PrtSc key as the trigger key for SnagIt. When I pressed the PrtSc it still invoked Snip. I performed a Google search for removing or disabling Snip. I used GPEDIT, REGEDIT, Uninstall, and whatever else I could find in the postings and on YouTube. After all of these efforts Snip somehow remains active

    :)

  2. Snip & Sketch - saving to Desktop sometimes works and sometimes does Not work (Win11)

On Win11 Snip & Sketch sometimes copies from the clipboard to the desktop and sometimes does Not

copy to the Desktop. The failed copies are listed in the recent action list, but when accessed Win11 gives

the error that "file has been moved"....

So I went into Settings to check that "Autocopy to Clipboard" was On

I noticed that there was also a setting for "Save Snips" which gives a confirmation

box when doing a save - so I set this to On

Somehow confirming the save seems to have fixed the problem, adding a step is a drag, but

at least now snip & sketch has been working every time

Your post is unclear. Please post a step-by-step description of what you are doing, e.g. like so:

    • Open the snipping tool
    • Click "New"
    • etc.

    snipping tool

    Please try this:

    Step 1:

Click Start, and type Snipping Tool.

Right-click Snipping Tool from the search results, and click App Settings

    Click Reset,

    Click Repair.

Note: In Windows 11, there is no Snip and Sketch. It comes pre-installed with the new Snipping Tool (which replaces the old Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps)

    Step 2:

Turn off Focus assist if it's enabled

    Step 3:

Open Services.msc and make sure that the following services are set to "Automatic" and running:

    • Windows Push Notifications System Service
    • Windows Push Notifications User Service
