Windows 10: How do I unlink OneDrive Sync without losing my files?

I've loved OneDrive for a while now until I got a new laptop. Because I had my Desktop on my desktop set to save my files, I guess it overrode the fact that those same files were on my computer before I turned on sync?When I logged into the new laptop, it copied my entire desktop to my laptop, and I didn't want it to do that. If I try to remove the file from my laptop, it removes it from my OneDrive which then removes it from my desktop. I had those files on my desktop computer before the sync, but when I turn off the sync on my desktop, every single file vanishes from the desktop computer.Som

Unlink Pictures Folder from OneDrive

Hello there,

I am attempting to unlink the Pictures folder in Windows 10 from OneDrive. I have far too many pictures currently and don't want to have them eat up up space. I believe I was able to do it before I reformatted my computer, but it no longer lets me bypass it. I get a message saying Can't stop syncing folder.

Any suggestions?

Unlinking files from OneDrive

A week ago I installed sims 4 on my pc. Onedrive automatically, which is annoying in itself, decided to link the sims files. I only have 5 GB in total on my personal onedrive, so you can imagine what kind of problem the sims gaming files will create..

So, I did the steps I could find on all sorts of websites in order to unlink the files of sims 4 from onedrive. When I click on settings > account > choosing files, and uncheck the games map, it tells me the following:

"Certain items which you wish to stop synchronisation of, are still not uploaded on onedrive. Wait until they're uploaded, clear certain synchronisationproblems and try again after a while"

Here is the thing; I can't 'clear' those synchronisation problems because it requires me to BUY more storage. I am a broke student, and can't afford that. Here the problem actually starts. It tells me to wait and sync all new files in order for me to unlink it. But that's, I'm sorry, a little stupid? I wish to stop the synchronisation and unlink the games file from onedrive, because I have no space. Yet it tells me to wait for everything to sync before I can unlink the file. But I can't sync anything!! My storage is full!! 5 GB in total, and the games file took 4,9 GB of all that (without permission, mind you). This is absurd. I called an IT guy from my school, but he couldn't help me because the problem lies in my personal OneDrive.

Help me, please!

 

Unlink my Documents folder from OneDrive

If i am clear with your description, you want to unlink Onedrive from where is synced rigth now and start a syncrhonization in the following path C:\Users\jjcla\Documents is that correct?
