Windows 10: How do I update to KB5014666?

Most of you probably already know that 14 June 2022 - KB5014699 broke Mobile Hotspot. Whenever I open Mobile Hotspot on my computer, app such as Firefox and Discord will stop working.

No big problem, I just revert back to previous update.

However, yesterday Windows force me to update my Windows 10. The update is the same broken 699 which broke the Mobile Hotspot. According to Microsoft Support, the 28 June 2022 - KB5014666 fix the problem. So how do I update my Windows to 4666?

I try go to Setting > Update & Security > Windows Update and click on 'Check for updates'. It said 'You're up to date' even tho I'm still using KB5014699. I uninstall the update and then update it again, it still give me the same broken version.

How do I force my Windows 10 to update to 4666 version?

KB5014666 causes the Recovery-feature refuse to open

Hello friends!

I have five computers running Windows 10 Pro 21H2 (OS version 19044.1806).

The KB5014666 update causes the Recovery-feature to refuse to open.



I go to "Settings", "Update and recovery" and then "Recovery".

This page refuses to open on all computers.



If I uninstall KB5014666 it will work again.

Is there any solution to this?

Windows 10 update KB5014666, usb printer not detected

Hi, I have a multifunction printer HP Laserjet Pro M1132 MFP.

After installing the KB5014666 update, Windows 10 does not detect the printer, it first installs the scanner device, and I'm not able to install the printer device (or function).



I have tested a couple of computers with this update and the printer does not install, however on a computer without KB5014666, the installation goes fine and both printer and scanner work.

I understand that KB5014666 makes some updates in how usb printers work in Windows 10, what I've noticed is that Win10 installs the scanner taking the USB virtual port impeding the printer install. Even if I remove the scanner device, the virtual USB port is not available until I restart the computer, maybe something to do with this issue.

I have remove and installed the drivers, devices several times in different manners to no avail. Even tried removing the update, but it's not removable.

At this moment I'm left with installing Win 10 again. If someone has another idea...

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
