Windows 10: How do I upgrade my OEM version of Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro using a license I own...

So basically like the title says, I am trying to figure out how to put my copy of Windows 11 Pro that I own from my old PC, on my brand new PC that has an OEM version of Windows 11 Home on it. I tried reaching out to MS support directly, but all they did was ask me for my license key several times, which I don't have as it's linked to my account. I saw some tutorials mentioning a generic key, however that didn't work for me as my base Windows version was 7, and I upgraded from 7 to 10, and from 10 to 11, and apparently the generic key won't work if 7 was your base. windows 11 pro oem to retail?

i purchased a prebuilt pc that came with a windows 10 pro oem license eligible for the windows 11 upgrade. i have since upgraded to the windows 11 pro oem version. my question is if i purchase a windows 11 pro retail license, can i change the installed version by changing the license info on the pc using the new retail license?

 

Free upgrade from Windows 11 Home to 11 Pro using 10 Pro retail license

My current computer has an activated Windows 10 Pro retail license. I'm planning to replace my current computer by buying a new computer that comes preinstalled with Windows 11 Home, and then I understand I can use my 10 Pro license to upgrade to 11 Pro for free.

What's the most straightforward way of accomplishing this? The obvious approach that comes to mind involves two steps:

1. Reinstall Windows 10 Pro on new computer and activate with my existing retail license.
   
2. Upgrade new computer to 11 Pro for free through the settings.
   

Is there a simpler way of doing this without having to reinstall Windows 10? For example, would it be possible to somehow "trade in" my Windows 10 Pro license for 11 Pro? I'm fairly new to Windows licensing and am just trying to understand what is possible/best practice, with minimal effort.

We have to move over a Windows 11 OEM home version to another motherboard (PC), the first MoBo has defects and has to be exchanged.
We understood that a NON OEM version can be transferred to another motherboard (PC).

Is it possible with a non-OEM version and how to upgrade the OEM version to a Home or Pro version?
Can you help what to do?
