  1. How do I use Wifi 6 on my Wifi 6E enabled PC?

Hello I have a strange problem, I have a Microsoft Windows 11 PC with a Wifi Card that is 6E enabled "Intel Wifi 6E AX211 160 MHz". My router TP-AX11000 and NBN modem supports Wifi 6.On my Wifi 6 enabled phone I have the little subscript indicator on the Wifi connectivity icon that indicates that it is running on Wifi 6On my PC however, while the protocol in Settings indicators it is on Wifi 6, the indicator in: Network & Internet > Wifi > [First Tab], shows Wifi-4.I'm not too sure how to diagnose this and am not sure if this is a purely cosmetic error with the system labelling. Wond

  2. Recommendation for WiFi usb / card

If you have a desktop computer I would STRONGLY suggest a PCIe adapter rather than a USB adapter if you go with WiFi 6. The only USB WiFi adapters that I have seen thus far use a Realtek chipset which is reported to have some serious flaws. In my own personal experience, I have tried 2 of these and returned both, getting performance worse than other WiFi 5 adapters and constant disconnects even 10 feet from my WiFi router. If you go with a USB adapter, I would suggest a quality WiFi 5 adapter. One more note: Should you decide to go with a WiFi 6 PCIe adapter, I would suggest a WiFi 6e model. They actually cost no more, and they are one step up just in case you ever go to a WiFi 6e router.

Has anyone gone to the expense of getting wifi 6 or 6E? Does it really make a difference?

If so is it worth the cost of the new router? I priced the routers for wifi 6 and they are more expensive than what I am using now (Netgear about 5 yrs old).

Just curious about all this since I have two computers and a phone system on the web.

    Thanks for comments.

    Wi-Fi 6E AX210 can't detect any wifi signals

    Hi Nelson Alex,

Are you sure Windows 10 and your PC support WiFi 6E?

Furthermore, in my opinion, your network card needs to be connected to a router that supports the WiFi 6E standard in order to function properly. Try following here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/gaming/resources/wifi-6.html

Read the section about WiFi 6 E.

In any case, also contact the Technical Support of your motherboard manufacturer to find out if your WiFi 6E AX210 wireless network card is compatible with your hardware.
