Windows 10: How do you change the monitor number in Windows 10

As the main thread HERE is closed and given answers are wrong - I have to open the same question againThe given instructions/advices dont change the monitor numbering.The issue:When i bootup my computer attached with 2 monitors my profile hasnt loaded yet - so none of the monitor settings will happen until after i logged in.As the "declared main monitor" doesnt show the loginscreen, its always on the one with number 1.I am sure i can solve this by getting myself two cable adapters and swap around the slots - so the monitor number 2 ends up beeing number 1, but aint there another way to change

Assign monitor Numbers

Hi,

If you're pertaining to making Acer screen as the monitor 1 and the other is 2, you can just have them interchanged by going following the steps below:

• Right-click on your desktop screen > Display settings.
• Under "Select and rearrange displays", just drag the monitor basing on your choice of number; then, click on "Apply" button after.
