my canon pixma mx475 comes up with message printer not responding.why?

Please answer all of the questions.

1. What version of Windows do you have and is it 32-bit or 64-bit? If you're not sure, click Start, right-click "Computer" and select "Properties"
2. How is the printer connected to the computer -- USB, wi-fi, connected directly to router, etc.?
3. Is "Printer not responding" the complete text of the error message? If not, please provide the complete text.
4. Were you ever able to successfully print using this computer and this printer? If so, what happened to your system shortly before the problem started? For example, malware infection/removal; new software added; Windows Update; changed ink cartridges;
   reverted to Windows 7 from Windows 10; etc.
5. What software application are you using when you get the error message? Does the same thing happen in more than one application (e.g., Notepad, WordPad, web browser, etc.)?
6. Are there any error lights illuminated or messages on the printer itself? If so, please describe.
7. Check to see if you can print by using the printer's front panel controls:
   • With the printer powered on and paper loaded, press the "Setup" button (the one with the "tools" icons)
   • Press the left or right arrow buttons to select "Template print" and then press the "OK" button
   • Press the left or right arrow buttons to select a template such as the "checklist" or one of the "schedules" and then press the OK button
   • If necessary, use the arrows to set the paper size and type and then press the OK button (or the black or color "Print" buttons)
8. Go to Devices and Printers, right-click on the icon for your Canon MX475, and select "Printer properties"
   • Select the "Ports" tab
   • Click and drag on the faint vertical line in the header row of the list between "Port" and "Description" to make the "Port" column wide enough to read the entire entries
     
     
     
     
     
   • Please report what is shown in the "Port" and "Description" columns for the line that is checked and highlighted
   • Click "Cancel" and then close the Devices and Printers window.
