Windows 10: How do you connect to a WEP connection?

So I've found out that the reason my pc isn't connecting is because my wifi is using an older security and now even if I put the correct password it won't let me connect. How do I solve this issue?

You should not be using WEP anyway, it is extremely unsecure and an outdated protocol. It is also know that certain WEP chipsets are very picky about connecting devices and often do not do so. It's far more likely an issue with yoru repeater then with the
phone.



In any case I woudl certainly suggest you get a mopre secure setup.

 

Unable connect to WEP Security Router

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• Do you get any error message when you try to connect to the network?
• Are you able to connect to other devices using similar router?

Method 1: If you are able to connect to other devices using the same router, i suggest you to run the troubleshooters by following the steps below:



Step 1: I suggest you to run the
internet connection troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows icon key on the keyboard, type Troubleshooting and select the top most search result.
• Click on View all from the left side panel of the window.
• Select Internet Connections, click on
  Advanced and check Apply repairs automatically
  option.
• Follow the on screen instructions.

Step 2: Also run the network adapter troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows icon key on the keyboard, type Troubleshooting and select the top most search result.
• Click on View all from the left side panel of the window.
• Select Network Adapter,
  click on Advanced and check Apply repairs automatically
  option.
• Follow the on screen instructions.

Method 2: If the issue persist, I suggest you to
update the network adapter driver from device manager by following the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X keys on the keyboard and click on
  Device Manager.
• Expand the Network adapter driver from the list.
• Right click on the driver and click on Update option.
• Restart the PC to install the network adapters automatically and check if the changes are effective.

Also check from the manufacturer’s website if you are using updated network adapter.

Wifi connection Wep Key memory - N85

Hi guys and girls,

When I connect my N85 via wifi it connects fine and asks for my wep key which is also fine... my problem is that it asks for my wep kep EVERYTIME on the same connection. On the N95-8GB (privious phone) the phone would remember the wep kep after I input it only
once and any wifi connections I connect to (wep key or not) it would remember the connection so I can connect to it later on without asking me anything.

Anyone have this prob or know how to solve?
