    How do you delete a folder that is open in another program, that isn't available in resmon.exe.


    When I search this up online, everyone told me to search the folder in resmon.exe using the Associate Handles. However, when I try to search it up or even copy and paste the name, nothing shows up. How do I fix this?

    Trouble deleting a folder

    Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

    *Confused How do you delete a folder that is open in another program, that isn't available in resmon.exe. :confused:

    Thanks for your help.

    Unfortunately it did not work.

    The MS support walked thru similar steps, we even reinstalled, deleted the folder but with no resolution.

    It is strange because this happens specifically on folders that have .exe programs. I can access other folders.

    The programs within the directory are listed and about 20 seconds later it closes.

    How to delete a folder if XP says it will make some programs not work?

    yeah just delete it, xp just picks up that theres an .exe and warns you that the folder contains a program.

    afaik hjt is stand alone and runs from its own folder without installing it, if this is the case then just delete it, if you had to install it then uninstall it via add/remove programs.
