Windows 10: How do you delete an old email address that you dont have access anymore?

I recently graduated from university and have no further use for my old university email address. I intentionally let the email password lapse and can no longer sign into the account in question. I've been getting quite a bit of notifications on my computer asking me to fix the issue and I'd like to see if removing the e-mail from the computer will remedy the situation.When I go to remove it, I go into settings>Email & accounts and then I click on the account and say "Manage". However, this prompts you to enter a password. How do I remove this from my computer if i cant even sign in

Here is the step to remove that old email address.

Start typing an email address into the “To” field. As soon as you see the old email address being recommended as one of the potential candidates, use the down arrow key to scroll through the list of suggestions. Once you highlight the old email address, type the delete key. In many cases, this will actually remove the entry not only from the current list of suggestions but from future suggestions as well. You may even find that as you mouse over the drop-down list the highlighted item will have an “x” to explicitly allow you to delete it.

Just do this step and your good to go.

Windows 10 Store Application -- old email address

Hi there,

I have already tried a lot of suggestions on this to no avail -- please help.

When I am trying to download a game from the store app a pop up asking me to verify my password for an old email address keeps coming up. This email address is not listed in my user account -- it was deleted three months ago. I have tried entering the
password for the old email address but it won't accept it and another message comes up saying there is a problem at their end and to try again later.
