Windows 10: How do you fix a "Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an Error while...

Whenever I would put my laptop to sleep, it would wake up with the touchpad unresponsive. The only way for the touchpad to respond would be when physically turned off the laptop using the button and then on again.I have tried several solutions suggested in online resources and now it's not responsive at all. I tried uninstalling the device and reinstalling it and that is when it brought up this error. I am manually turning the computer on and off but now the touchpad is not responsive at all.

when i install the driver this error show up and say: windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it

this device is not working properly because windows cannot load the driver required for this device. (Code 31)

how to fix it? pls help!

Wait, but have you done the whole step-by-step guide described in the OP? DDL/DTS isn't supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 either, unless if you do the steps listed there.

 

Error Encountered for drivers updates

Running Win 10 v 2004 currently with a Dell desktop pc. When I went to Windows Update there was the version 20H2 update available along with Recommended updates of 3 drivers I am still deciding whether to install 20H2. When I checked the 3 listed drives for downloading and installing the Error Encountered notification. Oddly I have since retruned to Windows Update and the only update shown now is version 20H2?
