Windows 10: How do you fix error 0x80048803 in windows 10 mail?

Every time I try to send an email through windows 10 mail it tells me:

"We're having a problem sending messages. Make sure you have a connection and your account info is correct, and then try again. Error code: 0x80048803"


I have an internet connection. Does anyone know what this error means and how I could fix it? Thanks.

Windows 10 Mail error 0x80048803 while sending emails from a new account

Legacy postfix / dovecot server works with outlook and webmail clients through ports 110 incoming and 587 outgoing messages. Windows 10 Mail with a newly created account was getting messages from server correctly using POP3 protocol, but failed to send (error 0x80048803).

Solution: I opened web browser (Google chrome) and connected to the server through RainlLoop webmail .

After that Mail sends messages without problems.

Google can be closed and computer restarted.

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)
