Windows 10: How do you get rid of tabs above the ribbon?

So I never noticed this stupid "play" above the video tools tab in explorer... and now that I notice it it's making me apoplectic.Why is that there????????? Dumbest design ever... if I want to play something I'LL CLICK ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This stupid "play" in pink is IN FRONT of the name of the folder.... it's unbelievably stupid. HOW DO I GET RID OF THAT FOREVER?there seem to be lots of ways to change the ribbon and the folder's view... WHY CAN'T I GET RID OF THAT WORTHLESS TAB THAT 99.999999% OF USERS HAVE NEVER USED??????

Remove colored ribbon tabs in title bar on a file explorer window in Win10Pro

We appreciate your input on this. However, this feature has been added on File Explorer since Windows 8. Technically, the ribbon on the screenshot you included is already minimized. Otherwise, it would look like this:





To minimize the ribbon, you just need to click the arrow. Then, you're going to want to click on the blank area on the title bar if that's how you switch tabs. If you are not familiar with
Alt + Tab, it will let you preview all your open tabs so you can easily switch tabs from there.

How to get rid of ribbons in File Explorer

Windows 10, version 1607. I've done the registry mod described at http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/42982-file-explorer-ribbon-hide-show-windows-10-a.html to get rid of File Explorer's infernal ribbons.

Specifically, in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer, I created a new DWORD key named ExplorerRibbonStartsMinimized, and set it to 1. Browsing any drive from Win10, File Explorer no longer opens up
its ribbon. Progress.

But when I click on View in the File Explorer menu, to customise display columns, back cones the infernal ribbon.

How do I get rid of this excrescence?

That doesn't look like a Microsoft Ribbon. If you right click on it, just left of the word Auto but not on arrow does it give you a name? Does it give you options or settings?

If you click on Ribbon arrow are any of the options settings.

It is likely being started in your Startup tab within task manager. Look for a name like Toolbar, System Status. If you post a screen shot of the names in startup tab members could help suggest root program.
