Windows 10: How do you reinstall Snip and Sketch on Windows 10?

User has uninstalled Snip and Sketch when it stopped working with a view to reinstalling it however, MS Store is blocked by company policy and the app is not available to install via the store anyway, only the new Snipping Tool for Windows 11. We have tried the following command via elevated power shell without any luck. The original snipping tool remains and is not removed in the process of uninstall below, but Snip and Sketch specifically is the requirement here. **Reinstall Snip and Sketch app via PowerShell.Press Windows key+X then select PowershellAdminCopy and paste the command to u

Sketch and Snip

As we are working as a IT support for the secure project, we need to disable the sketch and snip in windows 10 20h2 as well as in 21h2.

We have tried to add the registry keys for DisabledHotKeys as well as NoWinKeys, and we have turned off the hotkeys from the gpedit.msc.

But it is helping to disable the hotkeys only but not the sketch and snip. There are different ways to open the sketch and snip.

1) If we disabled the hotkeys, we are able to open the sketch and snip from start.

2) We are able to open the sketch and snip from the quick actions which is inside the notification bar.

3) We are able to open the sketch and snip by using the command explorer ms-screenclip:

Please suggest here to disable or remove the sketch and snip completely from the Windows 10.

 

Snip and Sketch Awkward

Use Windows+shift+s to launch Snip and Sketch. Can snip a screenshot.

Now the problem is this: after snipping the screen shot, it does not automatically appear in the Snip and Sketch app. So I open Snip and Sketch and there's nothing on it.

So I have choose 'new' and snip the screen yet again.

I recall using this once and taking a screenshot and voila! Snip and Sketch appeared with the screen shot duly in the app's workspace, ready for annotations and saving etc. This facility has disappeared. I have re-set it according to instructions, and even
reinstalled it - yet the problem persists.

Screen flickering while using Snip and Sketch

Meanwhile, let us try few steps.



Step 1: Reset Snip & Sketch app.

1. Press Windows + I key to open Windows
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Apps and select
   Apps & feature from the left pane.
   
3. Scroll and look for the Snip & Sketch
   app.
   
4. Select the app and click on Advanced option.
   
5. Click on Reset and once you see a tick mark, then relaunch and check.
   

Step 2: Update display driver.

We would suggest you to update the display driver from Device Manager. Please refer this article to update the driver:
