    How do you set up a task scheduler action to change default audio device?


    I'm trying to set up a two events in task scheduler.1. Change default audio input and output to my Virtual Oculus device whenever Oculus Program/Process is started. I can set the trigger by following this guide, but I can't figure out how to set the action to change my default audio device2. Change back my default audio input and output to my audio interface whenever Oculus Program/Process is terminated I can set the trigger the same way, but on process termination, but I can't figure out how to set the action to change my default audio device

    Action Button and Panel Missing From 'Task Scheduler'


    Solution (for me anyway).

    • *Start + R and type %appdata% <enter> to open roaming folder
    • Browse to Microsoft, then MMC
    • rename the file taskschd to taskschd_old
    • Open task scheduler - this will create a new taskschd configuration file in %appdata% with default settings.
    • Delete taskschd_old (if you want)
    • Don't untick all options in View/customize view or you get stuck again How do you set up a task scheduler action to change default audio device? :)

    Permanently set default audio device

    Hi Joost,

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    I understand that you need assistance to set your internal sound card as the default playback device on your Windows 10 computer.

    In this scenario it is required to disable the audio device of the docking station. Disabling the audio device for the docking station will enable the internal sound card. To do so,

    1. Right click on Volume icon on the taskbar > Open
      Sound settings.
    2. Click on Sound control panel option and click on
      Playback tab.
    3. Right click on the audio device for docking station and click on
      Disable.
    4. This results in enabling the playback device to internal sound card.

    If the issue still persists, I suggest you to post your query in
    IT TechNet forums    , since the settings which needs to
    be implemented on domain environment. We have dedicated team of experts who are equipped with the resources to suggest you with the further steps.

    i try to update my command and could not.

    i found a recommendation to enable . here -->

    "Step 1: Open an elevated Task Scheduler (ie. right-click on the Task Scheduler icon and choose Run as administrator)

    Step 2: In the Actions pane (right
    pane, not the actions tab),
    click Enable All Tasks History"

    How can I enable the Windows Server Task Scheduler History recording?

    not sure if it is persistent.
