How do you specify a particular access point on an SSID that has many?

Title says it. The issue is when I do a network analysis not all of the access points are equal in speed but three are close to the same strength. This causes two issues. First, the connection will randomly bounce between the access points because they are close in signal strength. Setting roaming to the lowest setting helps but doesn't completely fix the issue. Second one of the access points is an old router and is quite slow. If I roam to or initially connect to that one I am limited to about 350kbps. Is there a way I can manually enter the MAC address of the access point I want to use and force the wifi to connect to that or something?

  2. Access Points and Destinations

it takes a bit of getting used to moving from the access point lists to the destinations list they use now.

a couple of points i would suggest that are useful is that

1 many applications will inherit the settings specified in the browser or the 'default' setting in the destinations menu

2 you can add destinations and copy access points to them, if say you want some things to use wifi and an internet cell access point in that order, but you want something else to only only the internet cell access point you can add it to a new destination.

3 some apps that bring up the destinations list allow you to select access points from the options menu.

  3. Configure Wireless Access Point

I have an existing network using a Buffalo N300 wireless router configured as 192.168.11 and 255.255.255

I have recently purchased a Sony Bravia TV with internet capability and would like to connect a second router – the Belkin F5D-8233 – as an access point for the TV. As I already have the router, it is cheaper than me purchasing the Sony wireless dongle.

Essentially, the Buffalo is connected to my PC in one room and provides the internet access. The Belkin would be in another room, connected via Ethernet to the TV.

I have set the Belkin up to use 192.168.11.10 with the same SSID and security settings as the Buffalo. I have also set it up as an Access point.

I have connected the Belkin and the Buffalo together via the Ethernet LAN ports to try and do an initial configuration but I cannot see the Belkin when I do this even though the LAN ports light up.

Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to configure the Belkin so that it gets internet access wirelessly in the other room?

I have been able to confure the TV so that it sees and connects to the Belkin but obviously this is of little use unless it can connect to the internet through that connection.

    Thanks, any help appreciated.

  4. How do you specify a particular access point on an SSID that has many?

Problem with ip camera connecting over access point

SSID: the SSID of all found wireless access points will be shown here. Some
wireless access point may hide their SSID; in this case, you have to identify
    them by their MAC address

in this Case you must use the AP mac address and not the IP Camera Mac address and also the AP wireless channel and the cam must use same channel
