How does Microsoft justify the product push and notifications in Windows?

I have just been doing some tech support for my father who has been using a laptop running Windows 10, with Firefox as his browser. The other day I noticed that Edge, which was not installed or set up by a user, was now his default browser with all his bookmarks, passwords and history imported across.

He was struggling with bowsing because "it's a different icon", the layout was different, and google was not google, but bing. How can Edge install itself, then using its default settings, or a single "allow" button upon opening (maybe as a pdf reader) allow import of personal details from another browser? That's bloody suss marketing.

Now I use Edge and Bing as my defaults (for now), however that was my choice. Dad was happy with Firefox and Google, and that option was taken away from him most likely by forcing itself upon him and throwing up dialog boxes with the sole intent of "converting" the user to Edge. If Microsoft want to make people switch to Edge, they need to GAIN TRUST by making it a good browser and acting in a corporately responsible manner.

Edge is a good browser, but my trust of MS has been shaken by the unnecessary pushing of their product. Anticompetitive pushing of products is just a bullying technique that massive large companies can push, it's morally incomprehensible. Make your product stand out to sell it, not force push it. I look forward to a new legal battle against Microsoft and other large companies as they continue their anticompetitive practices. It's getting nasty, so I'm looking at replacing Windows with Ubuntu as it's not going to push anything, and is similar enough to navigate, if I don't go down the Mac path.

    Push Notification History

Is there a way to see Push Notification history. The notification window is small and seems to go away quickly. It would be nice to be able to see a historical list of the recent notifications. Can the Push Notifications be added to the lock screen
    with more text?
