    how does upgrading to windows 10 build 10240 affect my activation


    i am going to use a product key for pro found here --> Download Windows 10 Insider Preview ISO File - Windows 10 Forums

    will that have an impact on my copy of windows, will it turn my genuine windows 8.1 copy into a not genuine windows 10 if i use that product key?

    Windows 10 update

    My PC has Windows 10 build 10240 and has accepted update KB3147461 but the automatic update keeps trying to instal (and fails) KB3147458 which I believe does not apply to build 10240. How can I stop this annoying activity!

    Insider preview 10240 is RTM

    from win 8.1 upgraded to insider preview build 10130 and upgraded to new build 10240.

    activated permanently and licencee to Retail channel. no expire date on this build 10240 RTM

    I am from Insider preview (upgraded from windows 8.1), does my windows 8.1 considered upgraded?

    two of my computers got the same generic key, ending with 3V66T...i heard also other people with the same key.

    can i clean install windows 10 RTM without key and it will it be activated automatically?

    Ah.. I upgraded from an activated copy of WIn8.1 to build 19249 and the new build remained activated and I wasn't required to use a key to accomplish this. This was done by using an ISO of 10240 to upgrade.
