How does W11's built-in stack protection security work from the user's perspective?

I saw at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/why-do-incompatible-drivers-and-services-prevent-using-kernel-mode-hardware-enforced-stack-protection-5657173d-a98d-437e-afb9-e8ee5ae4ca6f : Turning on the Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection setting blocks the incompatible drivers from loading. And blocking these drivers might cause unwanted or unexpected behaviors, so this Stack Protection setting is turned off to allow the drivers to load. Is the above saying that stack protection in Windows Security / Device Security / Core Isolation settings is automatically turned off by W

  2. Kernel-mode hardware enforced stack protection option is unavailable in Windows Security

Hi! New built PC, running Windows 11 Home Version 22H2 with the latest updates. Going into Windows Security settings -> Device Security -> Core Isolation. All I can see is Memory Integrity. Kernel Mode Hardware Enforced Stack Protection is not grayed out, it's completely missing. The PC is running Intel Core i7 13700k CPU with virtualization enabled in BIOS along with TPM and Secure Boot. What could be missing on this one? After some googling, Kernel Mode Hardware Enforced Stack Protection should be supported by my CPU.

  3. Device security Kernel=mode hardware-enforced stack protection is off

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, this issue occurs when the processor is not compatible or not supporting Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection (KSHSP), in addition, I suggest updating your BIOS first then checking it again.

If the issue persists, kindly follow the steps from Cristiano, here's the link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.
