    How I do clean C Storage and delete window.old folder?


    Before 1 or 2 week, I updated windows 11 new update. that time my laptop's BIOS and everything updated.more than 2.30 hours.. Yesterday I notice my Local DiskC was only have 4GB. before the update 1 have 15 GB free space. before 6 month, I already uninstrall my software and reinstrall every thing in to Disk D.because I need to run Android Studio for my learning. now I can't open that application and even stuck my machine. Today I notice Disk C have a another windows23GB folder called window.old 9GB. can I delete windows.old folder?I really need your help to solve this problem. I hav

    C windows installer folder - Delete?

    He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink How I do clean C Storage and delete window.old folder? ;)
    Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
    First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
    Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

    Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

    Trouble deleting a folder

    Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

    *Confused How I do clean C Storage and delete window.old folder? :confused:

    Just run "cleanmgr.exe" in the run command or in a command prompt and select the drive you want to clean......
