How to turn on backlight for keyboard on a windows 1 HP 2000-100?

Please follow the steps below and check.

Step 1

Power on your HP Pavilion and press the "F5" or "F12" key to turn on the keyboard backlight, depending on your model.

Step 2

Locate the "Fn" key next to the Windows key on the bottom-left side of the keyboard. Press the space bar while holding the "Fn" key to turn on the backlight.

Step 3

Press the dedicated backlight key if your model has one. The dedicated backlight key is marked with three dots in a horizontal line. Some models with this key include the dv6-2022er, dv6-3250us and other laptops in the dv6 series.

how to turn on keyboard backlight on hp 14?

Far as I can tell from HP, all notebooks have a similar function to turn it on...most simply need you to simultaneously press the "Fn" and "F5" keys...sometimes it's a different F key. There should be a symbol next to the key in question.

"If your HP notebook computer has a backlit keyboard, take a look at the top bar of your keyboard and locate the F5 button. This button may even be labeled with a backlight icon. Simply clicking this button while pressing the Fn button located at the bottom row of your keyboard will leave you with keyboard lighting operational magic.

It may be a simple on/off or, on some models, you can adjust the brightness of the backlighting.

Also, depending on your computer model, your PC may be configured to control the backlit keyboard via the F9 or F11 button rather than the F5 button. Practice the same simultaneous Fn + F11 operation to turn on a backlight keyboard light."

The keyboard backlighting will not turn off on a Surface Book 1

The keyboard backlighting will not turn off on a Surface Book 1

F1 and F2 keys will not adjust the keyboard lighting up or down. It's stuck permanently on. The other F keys like volume up/down/mute etc work fine.

I've tried F1 and F2 with the Alt, Win, Fn, Ctrl all on and off. No luck getting the keyboard lighting to turn off.

The keyboard light will turn off when the screen detaches, but come right back on when re-attached.
