Windows 10: How is my windows 11 activated with a windows 10 key?

I used microsoft PID checker with the key I activated windows 11 pro with and it says that that key is windows 10 pro OEM. How is my windows 11 activated with a windows 10 key, and since it's an OEM key, would I be able to use it on the same machine if I did a complete secure erase in the BIOS? I also tried slmgr /dlv in command prompt and it says WindowsR professional OEM. I am pretty sure this doesn't mean the key is not legit, but does this have any downsides, and will I be able to use it if i reset the machine?

Nope, you need to install Windows 10 first and make sure the Windows 7 key is transferred to your Windows account after you've installed Windows 10 (not quite sure how that works). I missed the last step and I could not activate Windows 10 after a re-install... Microsoft seem to have done everything they can to make it a PITA. Also, it's technically too late to do this now anyhow, as the upgrade offer has expired. But KMSPico works quite well...

As for getting rid of Windows, delete the Windows folder.

Thanks but I don't want to do any decrypting. I want to download a Win 10 ISO from Microsoft and install it using my Win 8 key. No other steps required. Is that possible?

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
