Windows 10: How is TPM chip protects against against lap top theft

Hello,How is TPM chip protects against against lap top theft?I understand that if the HDD is removed from laptop and inserted in an other machine or external drive, the disk would be inaccessible.However, as long as disk is still in the laptop, what prevent me from logging as new user with a Microsoft account and have access to the drive?I also understand that any data under /user/ is protected but any data in common places like programdata program file and any non Microsoft official folder are not.

TPM chip locked out

Something went wrong with a TPM chip on one of our laptops.

The laptop asked for the Bitlocker recovery key (which it accepted) but didn't let us into the Azure connected Windows account with the PIN we created.

We logged in under the Local Admin account and turned Bitlocker off.

Now the TPM chip is locked. We can't enable it from tpm.msc as it says;





It's been like this for 24 hours now.

I've clear the TPM chip in the BIOS

I've also flashed the BIOS

I've reset Windows using the 'Recovery' console in the settings.

I even tried enabling Bitlocker without a TPM chip from gpedit.msc and we're getting the same error message.

What can we do? How do we clear the TPM chip since we are the owners?

According to the HP website, the specifications for that model do not list a TPM chip.

Many consumer grade computers do not come with TPM chips. Generally a business level computer could include them.

Were you trying to perform something that requires a TPM chip, such as enabling BitLocker, that we could possibly help with?

Dell lap top problem

The Dell lap top starts up and then after a minute shuts off. It told me to go to this site "recoverykey.faq. what is my next step to correct this problem?
