    Hello, so when i do a quick scan it takes around 20 seconds or so. It scans 32000 thousand files roughly. I think my quick scan is missing something due to it scanning a small amount of files and it being done so quickly. I do have a samsung 980 PRO with read speeds of up to 7000MBS a second. Still i think my Quick Scan is skipping alot of files. I don't have much installed. Only game launchers and games, and the stuff my computer needs such as drivers. Is this normal for how little files there are on my drive or/and how fast my SSD is?

    Quick Scan?

    Not necessarily. The time taken is calculated from the actual start and finish times. If you put the machine to Sleep/Hibernate part way through a scan the time taken will include the time spent asleep. Here's a quick scan that I put to sleep for more than 15 minutes part way through....

    Uninterrupted, the same quick scan takes 1 minute 23 seconds.

    Windows Defender - Quick Scan

    Windows defender no longer offers a quick scan option.

    My options are:

    • Scan
    • Advanced Scan
    • Full Scan
    • Custom Scan
    • Windows Defender Offline scan
    Whichever option I check, the scan will need to run for hours to complete.

    Is a quick scan available?

    How do I restore this feature?

    I firmly believe that this is an error. Add this to the 1809 bug list.
    Try forcing another Quick Scan and post back.
