Windows 10: how long should systems restore take to initialise HELP

HiMy PC got involved in a scam so to play save I created a restore point All seemed well, a window came up telling me Systems Restore is Initialising.It has now been doing this for 4 hours, becoming concernedHow long do they normally take to complete ?Thank youMrsoft

System restore in Win 10 taking a long time maybe idle

I had to system restore my desktop from win 10 but its stuck 4 hours now on "file and settings are being restored system restore is initialising".

Has it crashed in which case in order to stop it I should kill the power? or shall I let it continue?

How long is it likely to take if it should be left working on?

Windows 10 System Restore

This morning I wanted to execute a System Restore. I selected one of two suggested Restore Points and set it going.
Two hours later I still had the spinning dots and message saying
System Restore was initialising. I'm fairly sure initialising doesn't normally take two hours, so decided to stop the process. Ctrl-Alt-Del did nothing. I was forced to physically turn off the PC using the power button. Re-starting was normal and everything
appears to be running normally. Any ideas what I can do about System Restore?
